What types of story pitches would you find of interest?

I want to take less than 5 minutes of your time to ask what you look for in a story pitch and what would make you write about small business?

In the past I have reached out about client Small Business Expo and have gotten responses that you "don't cover small business" or "it's not a fit." There are roughly 30.2 million small businesses in the United States — meaning 99.9% of all businesses are, in fact, small businesses.

So what would make you do a story on small business in America?

  • Would it be tips to help small businesses operate more efficiently in some way?
  • Would it be trends surrounding small business?
  • What would make you write about small business?

In short, how can we give a voice to small business in America? Or is it that small businesses aren't sexy enough or interesting enough to compete with the likes of Tesla, Rivian, Peloton, Amazon, Google, and Meta.

Any feedback you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Best,
